MODS FOR RACE INTO SPACE


GrammarMod.zip		  - Updated since its original inclusion in the game, this 
			    tidies up the text in the end game (which was pushing 
			    into the window border in some places) and changes the 
			    announcement that "no capsules or 4-person capsule/
			    modules" can be delivered for a year to just "no 
			    capsules" can be delivered for a year.

HistoricalRecruitment.zip - An update to the 'naut roster in version 1.1 - I've found 
		 	    duplicate cosmonauts, among other things.  This file 
			    contains a Readme that explains all the changes made.

FIRSTIMG.zip		  - This contains files you would need to modify the intro 
			    image sequence of the game (where it shows the game's 
			    splash screen, then Khrushchev and Kennedy, etc.).

NewN1andVulkonMovies	  - These are movie clips to replace the N1 [N-1] and UR-700 
			    [Vulkon] movies in BARIS or RIS.  When I experimented 
			    with these files in Linux on a copy of RIS 1.0 compiled 
			    from source, they worked great.  But on Windows machines, 
		            the movie showed as a plain green screen instead.  I found 
			    that if I lowered the picture quality all the way (this 
			    is the "_LQ" version), the movies would work fine in 
			    Windows...but the quality was so poor you couldn't tell 
			    what you were looking at, so it was hardly worth it.  
			    These movies are from actual Soviet launches of the N1 
			    and Energia rockets (Energia was a scaled-down version 
			    of what would have become the UR-700 rocket).

ReplacementMovies2003    - These are more recently made replacement movies, and 
				hopefully better done than the NewN1andVulkonMovies files.
				This also includes replacement movies for the LK lander and 
				Lapot footage.
