  • ebe is a decent environment to get your feet wet with assembly language programming. The bit bucket and toy box tools are useful for exploring data formats and their relationships to the raw binary representation. The install process is fairly simple using the universal installation script (at least on a Linux system and on macOS, although currently it seems a bit broken on Mac, as Homebrew now installs Qt6 on Mac and this seems to break the ebe build). There's also some quirkyness with the GDB integration, with single stepping being problematic at times. But overall, it's a nice tool. I'm hoping the macOS install issue gets resolved, though.
