  • A backup program worse than any malware. I started a backup then changed my mind and cancelled it to start it again later - because the target is a slow USB drive (source is SSD). And it then proceeded to completely wipe my whole Linux partition. Right in the middle of doing other things my system started wigging out and crashed. I rebooted and then nothing... it was all gone. The whole OS and my User directory. The entire partition was empty except for about 20 high level empty directories. 130GB of data all gone! And it was my first backup attempt so I am completely screwed. How can a backup program do such a thing??????? The developer should be ashamed of himself. My system has been running numerous different Linux distro's and Windows in a multiboot multi-partition config for years. I cannot believe that my attempt to be safe and backup my current working partition has resulted in losing an untold amount of important files.
