A python gear generator that serves as CAE/CAD-preprocessor for involute gears based on pythonOCC. It allows for the computation of dynamic properties and the creation of exact geometries from a minimal input set.

PyGear can simulate the tool geometry and kinematics of standard gear hobbing tools to generate precise flank, tooth root and tip geometries.

Features

  • spur and helical gears
  • external and internal gears
  • STEP and VRML support
  • according to industry standards

User Reviews

  • There is no compiled version, although what problems can I take the same pyinstaller or cx_Freeze
  • The most accurate and flexible gear generator I have seen. Here's hoping the other kinds of gear get implemented!
