PortMidi is now maintained at github.com/PortMidi/portmidi. Source for portmidi is mirrored here in portmidi/v2.0.2/portmidi.zip as well as in the SVN repository. Currently, the other major portion of portmedia is portsmf, a fairly extensive set of tools for reading and writing standard midi files. This library also supports a richer representation, Allegro. This representation is the basis for Note Tracks in Audacity, and all the cut/copy/paste operations as well as some capabilities beyond what Audacity currently allows regarding the editing of tempo tracks and conversion from time-based to beat-based timestamps. In addition, the library includes a fast implmentation (in C) for a dynamic-programming-based audio-to-audio and audio-to-midi score alignment.
