Changes between 1.1.0 and 1.2.0:
- Now remember theme and fallback SoundFont settings
- Now have an "Open With..." action to make it easier to open the current MIDI file with other programs
- Update translations, thanks to contributors from Codeberg's Weblate instance
- Lower Qt version requirement so it can be built under Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Pineapple MIDI Player is a simple SoundFont MIDI player, designed to play simple MIDI file together with SoundFont file, especially MIDI files extracted by tools like VGMTrans. This tool will attempt to load the SoundFont with the same file name as the MIDI file by default, and support change SoundFont on-the-fly when dropping a SF2 file onto the main window.
Pineapple MIDI Player is available on Windows and Linux, you can get the Windows binary here, and use the PKGBUILD for Arch-based Linux desktop redistribution (AUR: pineapple-midi-player
). For this version, an AppImage version is also provided for testing purpose, it's still suggest to use a native package or install it manually when possible.
This player is intended to play simple MIDI file, so if you need a more advanced MIDI player to support more MIDI events and SoundFont features, consider try QMidiPlayer instead :)
