It simplifies the needs of restaurants by making the ordering process straightforward, efficient, and productive. The PEI system is designed to be utilized by the restaurant staff. Additionally, the PEI system allows the restaurant staff to calculate routine transactions and keep track of all transactions on a scheduled time-period basis. For the restaurants managers, the PEI would provide administrative roles for them to update the restaurant menu and discounts. The PEI system gives restaurant owner an ability to generate sales report for daily activities and similarly the capability to perform the aforementioned managerial tasks. New and special in this release ------------------------------- The screens are now direclty linked to the database. The order selection now allows the users to update or delete an order The menu selection allows the user to select various items. Hardware and Software Requirements ---------------------------------- Operating System: Windows XP or later version Minimum 1GB RAM for Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 SP1 - Express Edition required. Installation instructions ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Install Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 SP1. Install Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 if unavailable. The major step was to setup the database infrasturcuture to link with the .NET framework. Afterwards, the software implementation was started in the following phases: The first update was the development of the Log-in Screen. The second update was when Order Selection Screen and Menu Selection Screen were developed. The third update included debugging and refinement of the system. Current Issues -------------- The Management Console Screen and Payment Screen are currently being developed. The PEI is currently facing an unforeseen issues in regards to the tax algorithm.
