                         Pearl Linux OS 5.2
                               
      is an UPGRADED version of the Pearl Linux OS 4.0 series release
  This release uses our own DE (desktop environment) called PearlDE (PDE)

The first iso to be released is named  Pearl-Desktop-5.2-06-26-2017_amd64.iso which
upgrades the linux kernel, updating system to a Linux Mint Styled atmosphere, latest  
Ubuntu Security and Software Updates as well as Pearl Updates and bug fixes which are
also available through our repository under the distribution name "Rapturo".

I CAN IMAGINE OUR NAMING OF ALL PEARL RELEASES CAN BE PRETTY DANG CONFUSING

I AGREE...... PEARL LINUX, PEARL OS, PEARL MARTE , PEARL DESKTOP...... GEEZE...

WE WILL SOON RENAME PREVIOUS RELEASES AND FUTURE RELEASES TO SIMPLY PEARL OS.

ALL ISO'S WILL LOOK LIKE THIS EXAMPLE:
PearlOS-Mate-Version#-Dat_Arch.iso

This will make everything much more organized.

To Install:

Create a USB bootable disk from the ISO image
System boots to the PearlDE-FX desktop.. no username or password required.
Click Install PearlDesktop icon on desktop.
Thats it. :-)

Pearl Linux OS is a complete system with alot of customizing options as well as
audio, video, office and Internet software to handle all your tasks.


Pearl is a great distro for users coming from Windows or Mac simply because you
can try out the most stable free open source software from one of 4 software
installers.

Pearl is also great for your main go to system.

--------------------->    Pearl Linux OS 4.0 <----------------------

Create a USB Install disk on Linux with USB Creator, Unetbootin or Gnome Disk Utility

On Windows you can use one of many programs available. I prefer YUMI.

YUMI also can create a multiple OS install disk (windows and Linux).

If using yumi ..to install Pearl from the drop down that lists all OS's
available choose "mintyMac" and click option to show all files.
Simply choose the PearlDesktop...iso and your set.

PLEASE NOTE:
If you want to boot using EFI mode, on a Linux Computer, use "unetbootin" software to image your usb pin drive.
You will also need to install "extlinux".... simply run commmand below:
"sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install unetbootin extlinux"

EFI mode is usually not required however you now have the option at least when using unetbootin.

We installed and tested this version on a MeeGoPad t2 ... a tiny intel based usb micro PC.

                          NOTE FOR KODI:

KODI is currently going through issues with some addon repo providers.
A solution should be available soon.
KODI is great for not just streaming Internet content but also great to manage your own content.
