This utility works. However, the link to download Ghostscript files is outdated. Just go to Ghostscript.com and download the file accordingly.

Installed Ghostscript, then ran the app. It requested that I browse to the Ghostscript install directory, which I did. I then tried dropping a file on the app. Nothing happened, and the file was unchanged. I then tried browsing to the file, but alas! Sorry you had issue's. I know you mentioned you have already purchased another software but if you would like you can open an issue on the GitHub page. I'd be glad to take a look and help you out. I have had no issues with the tool on my end and even just now downloaded a test encrypted PDF and had no issues removing it with PDF-Unlock. https://github.com/Go2Engle/PDF-Unlock
