Install the file volume-control to ~/bin. Place the following in ~/.xinitrc: ~/bin/volume-control "low" "medium" "high" & replacing the words low, medium, and high with integers corresponding to the volume you want the buttons preset to. For example if you normally have your mixerctl outputs.master=150,150 then that may be a good "high" value. Then adjust your low, and medium accordingly. There are no plans to change this in anyway. I am sharing it because others may find it useful. If it doesn't look right to you, fix it.
