OONI Probe is a free, open-source network measurement application designed to investigate internet censorship and connectivity interference. Developed by the Open Observatory of Network Interference, it allows users to test whether websites and online services are accessible from their networks. The software performs measurements that can reveal potential blocking, DNS manipulation, and other connectivity anomalies. It also includes tests for messaging services, circumvention tools, and network performance. Users can examine measurement results and contribute data to a public research dataset. Its multiplatform implementation uses Kotlin and Compose Multiplatform to share functionality across devices. Available for Android, iOS, and desktop environments, OONI Probe supports research into internet accessibility and censorship.
