Installation

  1. You will need to download and install Obsidian on your computer. Follow the installation instructions from this page.
  2. Download and unzip ObsidianMEDILIG_0_9_1.zip that contains both the English and Greek versions of the application
  3. Unzip the desired release (ObsidianMEDILIG_en_0_9_1.zip or ObsidianMEDILIG_en_0_9_1.zip file)
  4. Create a folder on the C:\ drive of your computer, for example C:\ObsidianVaults\ObsidianMedilig and extract the contents of the archive there.
  5. Open Obsidian and add the extracted folder as a new vault.

The Obsidian MEDILIG vault is simply a folder (C:\ObsidianVaults\ObsidianMedilig) that contains all the system files of the Obsidian MEDILIG application, the patient folders created by the user, any media you add, Obsidian settings and plugins along with their settings. The vault contains everything needed for Obsidian MEDILIG to function on another computer. All you need to do is install Obsidian, copy the vault to the new computer or device, and continue working there.

Configuration settings

Configure backup

On the left side, scroll down and from the Community plugins, select Local Backup and set the Windows storage path for the backup files. You need also to specify the file path of the archiver program e.g. 7-Zip

Configure media_feeder

To automatically place media files into the patient folder or change the photo of the patient in the profile, you need to create a folder C:\media_feeder from which Obsidian MEDILIG transfers the files. This is the default location. If you want to change the location, you would need to modify parts of the system code, which is not recommended for casual users:
