READ ME NURDLE 1.1 Release Notes ======================== This is a Wordle companion app. It requires a Java runtime. WHAT IT DOES ============ Nurdle attempts to find the best guess for you at any stage in a game. Since it allows stepping back and replaying, it is an ideal tool for reviewing and analysing strategies after a game of Wordle. As you confirm your guesses and enter Wordle's response colourings, it will eliminate possible solutions, until just one remains (or you run out of guesses). HOW TO USE ========== To use Nurdle, either accept Nurdle's first suggestion for each guess, or click Select to choose an alternative from the shortlist, or via textbox search. You can also change settings relating to how guesses are evaluated. When you have chosen your guess, click the "Colour?" button. This will allow you to click on letters to colour the word according to Wordle's response pattern. When you confirm your colouring, Nurdle will use the information to eliminate any solutions inconsistent with the results. Then Nurdle will suggest the next guess. Rinse and repeat. BEST OPTIONS ============ The best performing options (averaged over all possible games) are "Pattern group priority" and "Easy mode hardball" (the latter unless you play Wordle in hard mode, of course!).
