NextFractal - Real-time fractals download

NextFractal is an application for creating fractals and other algorithmically generated images. Images are generated from instructions contained in a script. NextFractal provides tools for rendering fractals, creating time-based and event-based animations, organising images, and exporting images and animations. See video for a short demonstration.

NextFractal is free software, available for Mac, Windows and Linux.

This is great fun. I wasn't expecting a friendly Mac-native interface. Just double-click to start right from the disk image. I particularly love how the graphic refreshes as soon as you make a change to the code. I haven't been all the way through the tutorial yet, but it seems pretty comprehensive. Nice work!

A sort of JAME but more cryptic. Still trying to find how to launch it. Verbose, developer-oriented documentation. No support. No chance for ordinary would-be users.

Sorry to hear that you found NextFractal difficult to use. The application has a support page on Facebook though (https://www.facebook.com/nextfractal). Perhaps you missed the video on the website and YouTube showing how to use the main features (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uU1p7u-B2Kg), and the tutorial for getting started with the scripting language (https://nextbreakpoint.com/nextfractal-tutorial.html). It would be interesting to know which version you tried and why you weren't able to lunch the application. You could raise a bug on GitHub for that (https://github.com/nextbreakpoint/nextfractal).
