Nest-o-Patch snapshots. Newest "intermediate" versions of the program, containing
small updates, are placed here.
2.1.9.8 Bug fix: program crashed when value in Max Y edit box was smaller than in
Min Y edit box. Now error message is issues and old value returned.
2.1.6 After stable version 2.1.4. Bug by saving IV plot fixed. Procedure of stationary
noise analysis which allows to find Po in a recording with several channels if
single channel current and zero current leve are known, was added.
Importantly, thid version requires ReadPMaster.dll and ReadPulse.dll 4.0.
2.0.2. Fit of a dwelling time in opened or closed state with the hypoexponential
distribution was added.
1.7.3m Nest-o-patch itself is not different from 1.7.3, but new version of
readpmaster.dll is included into this installer. Reason is that an error
preventing opening of nest-o-patch files with multiple amplifiers was
found and corrected.
1.7.3 Serious errors in the single channels analysis were found in ver.1.7.
In this version they are corrected.
1.7 Version 1.7 is the last one in 1.x family. In fact, it may be viewed as a
prerelease of 2.0 version. Numerous changes were made after the previous
release of 1.2 version. Only most important are listed here.
1. Manual settings of Borders between levels is not needed anymore. They
are set automatically, half way between levels (other distances are
possible too. For example, to minimise false event detection, one can set
borders for border crossing algorithm on a larger distance. See "Options"
dialog for details. Only outer borders are left; they are used for scaling
a display and for limitation of "true" data.
2."Consider time interval/treat all points equally" option was removed;
problem of missed data is always correctly dealt with.
3. Goodness of binomial fit is now tested with Pearson's statistic; number
of independent events, by which the fit may be rejected is reported.
(However, next question how to count independent events in a continuous
recording remains).
4. Binned current histogram can be fitted with a sum of gaussians, which
can be used for the analysis of binomial distribution, precise positioning
of levels and NPo calculation.
5. Fit with a sum of exponents is added to the analysis of single channel
kinetics.
6. Table of events can be found and saved when an ensemble of several
channels is registered. Idealised trace can be displayed, as a presentation
of detected opnings/closures events.
7. Analysis of completely resolved events added to determnine more precisely
current amplitude of the fast channels, where many events are partially
filtered out.
8. Built-in calculator with Reverce Polish Notation and large stack added;
results of many measurements may be automatically sent there.
9. In many cases, results are also automatically sent into windows clipboard.
10. Program is now distributed as self-installer.
There were also many refinements of user interface and bug fixes. Please,
experiment with the program and its controls to find out all news. The user
manual for new version still remains to be written, and this prerelease is
distributed with an old manual.
1.12 Bessel and Butterworth filters were replaced by Gauss and Moving Average.
Minimisation of the sum of unweighted squares was added as a test for
binomial distribution fitting. In the "Follow baseline" mode, last point
can be removed by pressing [Backspace]. A user can now leave this mode
pressing [Esc] button.
Commands added to set vertical scale scale to the Borders or to
the complete data range. Keyboard can now be used for navigation along
X axis. New images for scaling buttons are used. Now they look clearly
different from the buttons which set borders etc.
Buttons to visit official site of the program, to add bug report, to
start a topic in the forum and to write to the author were added to
aboutbox.
1.11 The only one, small, but important difference is that this version keeps
its configuration file not in the folder of the program, but in a user's
local AppData directory, according to the policy of modern Windows
versions. Therefore, it is possible to install Nest-o-Patch to a normal
"Program files" folder.
