Nest-o-patch 2.0.4. Release notes.

This is bug-fix release. Update to this version is recommended for all.

Installation.

Download the installer. Remove any previous installation. Start the installer. When Windows asks if you want to execute this unknown application, answer "Yes". If Windows 10 prevents start of it, select "Additional information" and in the opened window say that you want to execute the application. Later follow the instructions of the installer.

Differences with the version 2.03.

  1. Files using "Toggle" voltage increment mode, which was introduced in the later versions of PatchMaster can be opened now.
  2. Commands which require Highlight will not be attempted when no section is highlighted. Earlier such attempt could lead to unstable behaviour.

Differences with the version 2.0

  1. Unicode file names are completely supported now. Therefore, it is possible to use file names or paths containing non-ASCII charachters. New readpulse.dll and readpmaster.dll are needed.
  2. New command "Set baseline numerically" was added to the "Edit" menu. With this command you can set the ideal baseline to any precize value, for example, to "0".
  3. New command "Transferred Charge" was added to the "Analysis" menu. This command calculates the charge transferred by measured current during the selected interval. Similar to the "Mean Current" command, it uses absolute value of the current if there are no levels, or difference of the measured current with one at "0" level if levels are present.
  4. Option "Default File time" was removed. Instead, the program remembers type of the file which was opened last.
  5. Opening of large text files was made faster.
  6. Hypoexponential distribution was added to the analysis of single channel kinetcis.

Bug fixes:

  1. "Show highlight" state is preserved now between the program sessions.
  2. All values of mean current are copied in the clipboard in overlayed view.
  3. Error in file closing which sometimes could prevent opening of a second file in a session was removed.
  4. ReadPulse.dll: Pulse files containing leak current trace are opened correctly now.

Main differences with the previous stable release, Nest-o-Patch 1.2.

  1. Manual settings of borders between levels is not needed anymore. They are set automatically, half way between levels. "Asymmetric" borders positioning is possible too. For example, to minimise false event detection, one can set borders for border crossing algorithm on a larger distance. Outer borders still can be set manually. Use them for scaling a display and for limitation of "true" data, to cut off any artefact peaks. 2."Consider time interval/treat all points equally" option was removed; problem of missed data is always correctly dealt with.
  2. Goodness of binomial fit is now tested with Pearson's statistic; number of independent events, by which the fit may be rejected is reported.
  3. Goodness of fit with Poisson distribution is reported as well.
  4. Binned current histogram values are expressed as probability density function, 1/pA.
  5. Binned current histogram can be fitted with a sum of gaussians, which can be used for the analysis of binomial distribution, precise positioning of levels and NPo calculation.
  6. Fit with a hyperexponential distribution is added to the analysis of single channel kinetics.
  7. Table of events can be calculated and saved when an ensemble of several channels is registered. Idealised trace can be displayed, as a presentation of detected opnings/closures events.
  8. Analysis of completely resolved events added to determnine more precisely current amplitude of the fast channels, where many events are partially filtered out.
  9. Built-in calculator with Reverce Polish Notation and large stack added; results of many measurements may be automatically sent there.
  10. In many cases, results can be automatically sent into windows clipboard.
  11. Table data can be copied from the Notebook to Windows clipboard as a table, to paste them easily to any table processing software.
  12. Median filter added.
  13. Setting of gaussian filter window improved. It reports now actual cut-off of the cascade of filters, rise time of the step response.
  14. Many small bug fixes.
  15. User interface was improved.
  16. Program is now distributed as self-installer.
