  • While Windows Fax and Scan (which I think has not been updated in 15 years) does a rudimentary job, after gnashing my teeth with WFS for some time trying to scan a lengthy document on my ancient Canon multifunctional, I stumbled across NAPS2. Installed easily, configuration was simple, and it very quickly scanned my lengthy document into one, reasonably compact PDF. Recommended.
  • Outstanding software. I have a new M3 Mac and an old but still functional Canon multifunction device scanner. This software works!!! When I couldn't get the Canon or Apple scanning software to work. The program is easy to use and has some advanced features should I need them in the future. I had a few questions which the community answered the same day. Outstanding. Highly recommended.
  • Nice app.
  • To be honest, running Ubuntu 23.04 now, but only scanner that I could actually get to work on Ubuntu 22.04, So I'm sold. As for support haven't needed any to date so I guess that's the best support there is, right? I can't speak to security or any behind the scenes stuff like that but no issue's so far. If your having issues, make sure your drivers are up to scratch. Otherwise, keep up the good work guys. This should really be on the conical snap-store. :-)
  • Fantastic! In my limited time using this software and asking for help, I am very impressed. The UI is well designed and it is feature rich; having features I didn't know I needed until I started using them. Well done 👏
  • I am in IT and recently my company bought a very large inventory of printers from a well known company but their software scanning feature would not work in our environment. I found NAPS2 doing a search on Google and it seemed it would be the solution I was looking for. We now deploy to all our users in this particular project and am so happy with it. The end users are not very good with Windows but this app is so easy they can use it without fear. I am looking forward to seeing all the improvements in v7.0b7 beta. Keep up the great work! :)
  • Got te job done in 2 minutes! easy to use with many options to scan and edit your doc. Many thanks!!
  • Very nice tool. It's easy to use. Very helpful. Thank you.
  • Terrific simple tool. Small download and does what it's asked to do. Usability is slightly less polished than a commercial product. For instance, you have to change the profile to switch from feeder to glass. But this is fabulous for a basic free tool.
  • thanks
  • The way software used to be written: easy, compact and just doing what it's supposed to do. Using NAPS2 with Brother Fax-2940 and WIA and TWAIN are both recognized (with Brother's drivers). And native UI works fine too in case I want to use it. Keep it simple!
  • I am using an old Canon MF3110 multifunctional, to which software support had died years ago. To get some functionality on Windows 10 x64 I installed a modified Vista driver which enabled printing. It also showed up as as a scanner. However, most scanning software would only hang with an error. NAPS2 was the first, and up-to-date, only application with which I could get scanning performed. My old trusty multifunctional is up and running again! The program is very compact but packs a large array of features. OCR is even supported in my native language. A good program which also has ecological benefit, as you don't have to throw away old functioning hardware, but just use this instead of proprietary options.
  • Cool free and very easy to use
  • A wonderful tool to play with pdf files.
  • For years I was a microfilm/imaging/edm/cms consultant and operations techie/executive. We sold, installed, and used multiple systems. So while I had access to the very best professional software for my own use, I found myself using NAPS2 for nearly all of my own work. And a good deal of customer work too. It just works, is simple, and reliable. Kudos!
  • Thanks for the program under a free open source license!
  • Very useful, customizable and free program. Thank you! I like to edit save shortcuts and removing buttons..

  • When my printers (HP and Epson) scanning software and Microsoft Scanner failed me while working from home because of Covid 19 - this fantastic programme saved the day :)
  • I tried different OCR tools on my Windows 10 box (a9t9 with tesseract, tesseract standalone, neocr, IRIS v16). Then I luckily found NAPS2 which also relies on tesseract. It works from the first moment as expected and has useful features like reverse sorting the scanned pages. It seems that I have more control with IRIS. With IRIS I can see and correct the recognised letters and words - but sometimes changing a letter craches the PDF output process of IRIS. But maybe I only did not find all features yet .. ;-) The generated PDF of NAPS2 are also than with IRIS - but IRIS wasn't as stable as NAPS. Would be nice if you switch to the latest verison of tesseract (see UB Mannheim who suggest to use v5.0.0-alpha) But anyway: Thank you for that great software and that I can use it on Windows!
  • This program simply just works. I had a long document that my printer software would not fully scan. I tried several other programs that also did not work. I fired up this program, ran it through the scanner, and voila...perfect scan. GREAT job software writers. This should be on EVERY computer!
  • Really nice! My old Canon printer had some good scanning software (MP Navigator), but the newer printer's scanning software is just awful. Hence looking around for scanning software, and found this. It Just Does What I Want! It easily found my Canon MG5750. In particular, I like how it handles multi-page scans, then allows you to review the results, rotating and cropping as necessary. Just needs a bit of usability polishing and it would be perfect. I'm so pleased, have donated some dosh :-)
  • Super little program does what it says on the tin just wish it had auto-crop that would make my life so much easier
  • Great software with fortunately very less missing functions.
