Naive Hashcat is a wrapper around Hashcat intended to simplify password-hash recovery for users who do not want to manually configure many attack strategies. It combines a predefined sequence of dictionary, combination, rule-based, and mask-based approaches into one scripted workflow. Hash type, input data, and result storage are exposed through a small set of configurable values. The repository bundles an older Hashcat release and includes supporting scripts for handling recovered results. Its design prioritizes convenience rather than giving users fine-grained control over every Hashcat option. The project is historical and relies on tooling versions that are now significantly outdated. Because password recovery can expose credentials, legitimate use should be restricted to hashes the tester owns or has explicit authorization to audit.
