Simple and straightforward for first AJAX task. Used DevPHP to see it say "hello", and then modified it slightly to retrieve row count for a table in PostgreSQL DB. (For some reason, on my Windows system, first had to use Properties, Advanced on unzipped files to uncheck Encrypt file attribute. Then it worked great.)
