  • I read some good things about mondo so I thought I would give it a try on my fedora 21 machine - couldn't get out of the chute with it. It kept complaining my kernel was too big, I would give it more storage as was recommended - still complaining. I wasn't finding much on my problem so I gave up on it and tried clonezilla, no problems. Maybe I needed to do something I don't know about, but I didn't need to deal with something that was starting out as a headache. I don't know, maybe mondo was great some years ago but I'm wondering about it now. Of course there is still the possibility I missed something.
  • Mondorescue is a good tool for Linux archive-restore. The most I like is that able to archive a running system which save us lots of downtime. The major problem is the restore process is too slow, it takes so long to recover a system. For a normal size server (only vg00 in about 50GB) it takes more than 2 hours. Is it anyway to speed up the recovery time?
  • I use it obviously for all my backupsand cloning activities. Works most the the time, and when not, just patch it ;-)
