User Reviews

  • Tested on file: High School of the Dead 01 Spring of the Dead (BD1080p AC3 10bit).mkv Tested on mkvtoolnix-64-bit-21.0.0 Tested on MKVExtractGUI-2 versions: 2.4.0.0 & 2.2.2.9 For version 2.4.0.0 nothing is displayed. For version 2.2.2.9 only 1 chapter is displayed. Cons: cant extract subtitles in .srt or .a** format.
  • MKVtoolnix 20 broke MKVExtractGUI. It only displays chapters and attachments but won't actually extract them. Open an MKV without any chapters or attachments and it shows nothing to extract.

  • well version 2.2.2.9 works fine. With version 2.3.0.0, when I select an input MKV file, tracks of that file are not listed at all! So I cannot extract any track (in my case, subtitles) from that file. When I downgrade to v2.2.2.9, everything works fine. One star for v2.3, five for 2.2.2.9, so it is three as average. My system is Windows 7 ultimate edition 64 bit. I can send a screenshot if you want. By the way, I downloaded version 2.3 hoping that it allows batch processing of MKVs, i.e. to extract subtitles of all MKVs found in a directory. It still doesn't have such a feature. It would be great if it had it AND if it worked on my system.
  • v2.3 has all kinds of niggling little details removed, compared with v2.2.2.9 a) text no longer greys out when running. Harder to see if the program is active. (I run multiple instances, so its a pain to open each one separately to check if its finished yet). b) default save path no longer follows the active file, only the first file opened. Have to close and reopen the app. The loss of these little details caused me to revert to the previous version. Despite this, its still works well and is a very useful program. My score is for this update only, I rate the previous version Excellent.
  • Fonts extraction is broken in 2.2.2.8 and .9 A dealbreaker in an otherwise perfect tool.
