mdmdview is a free, open-source Markdown viewer designed for fast document rendering on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Built with Rust and egui, it runs as a lightweight standalone executable without external dependencies. It displays formatted Markdown with tables, images, internal links, emoji, and syntax-highlighted code blocks. More than 100 programming languages are supported through its syntax highlighting engine. Users can search documents with Unicode-aware matching that ignores case and accent differences. Drag-and-drop functionality opens files, queues multiple documents, or loads Markdown files from folders. Raw source mode supports viewing and editing the original Markdown text. Additional tools include Mermaid diagrams, keyboard navigation, live image refreshing, and persistent window settings.
