IPv4 multicast services such as IPTV are part of the IPv4 Internet service that needs to be continued during IPv6 transition. IETF draft-ietf-softwire-dslite-multicast, and draft-boucadair-64-multicast-address-format, together document multicast extensions to the DS-Lite technique for delivering IPv4 multicast services to IPv4 receivers connected to an IPv6 multicast-enabled network.

France Telecom/Orange Labs Beijing has developed the “mB4 function” that conveys the contents of IGMP Report messages sent by the IPv4 multicast receiver into the equivalent MLD Report messages which are forwarded by the CPE towards the MLD Querier located upstream in the IPv6 multicast network for further processing.

Note that mB4 function shall work together with the mAFTR function.

A low-code dashboard makes monitoring intuitive for any admin, while scripting and custom sensors give experts full control.

You shouldn't have to choose between a monitoring tool that's easy to use and one that's powerful enough for a complex environment. PRTG's low-code interface lets any admin build dashboards, set alerts and monitor devices without scripting, while custom sensors and full API access are there when your team needs deeper control. One platform, no compromise. Download a free 30-day trial now.
