Materializr 1.7.4
Materials and grids: give each body a real material with a mass and a finish, and pattern sketches into grids.
Added
- Materials. Each body can carry a material, picked from the colour swatch in Items or the Properties panel. The list covers common 3D printing plastics (PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, nylon and more), metals, wood and a few others. Plastics keep the body's colour; metals and wood repaint it. The material is saved with the project.
- Volume and mass in Properties. For printing plastics there is also an estimated printed mass from the infill percentage and wall count, counted the way a slicer does.
- Material finishes in the viewport. Metals reflect a photographed studio and wood shows a grain under a satin finish. Settings ▸ Appearance ▸ Materials turns the studio reflections off.
- Grid sketch patterns. Linear Pattern can now copy left, right, up and/or down, each with its own count and spacing. Two or more directions make a grid, and all four centre it on the original. Directions follow the screen, whichever way the sketch faces.
Changed
- The appearance editor opens in place of the Items list instead of a popup, so the viewport stays usable while it is open.
Fixed
- Tiled sketch patterns close into regions. A copy whose corner lands on a neighbour's now shares that point, so every cell of a tiled pattern can be picked for Push/Pull or Extrude. Before, a tiled mesh formed no regions at all.
