LXOSKOPE is a software implementation of an oscilloscope in LINUX, using a sound card as input device with the OSS interface (/dev/dsp*). This program is based on XOSKOPE-0.5 (eXtended oscillOSKOPE), released in 2001, created by J.Fernando Moyano (see http://xoskope.sourceforge.net). This program is best suited for displaying periodic waveforms, because most soundcards are AC coupled. The graphical interface was designed to be as intuitive as possible for users who are familiar with traditional hardware oscilloscopes. LXOSKOPE has been developed and tested on Mint9 (32bit) with the Behringer USB Audio Interface UCA202. Specifications for version 0.7: - display modes: time/add/xy - vertical: 2mV to 10V per division - overall gain control for calibration - horizontal: 100us to 5 sec, for full sweep - trace position adjustments: vertical and horizontal - trigger: on/off, channel 1 or channel2, rising or falling edge - trigger level: -10 to +10V - signal level measurements: max, min, pp, rms - signal levels and time shown for mouse pointer location selected on display - sampling rates: 48000 to 4000 - options for recording and inspecting soundcard data To compile and link LXOSKOPE, Xforms1.0 needs to be installed (download from http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/xforms).
