Softsqueeze 3.9.3 includes log4j library v1.2.17 to mitigate CVE-2021-44228 and CVE-2021-45105. Softsqueeze requires Java 1.8 32-bit or higher preinstalled except for the MacOS Softsqueeze-3.9.x.pkg installers which bundle the oracle 10.0.2 jre and the softsqueeze_windows_with_jre_3_9_x.exe which includes the last oracle jre 1.8.0_152 to support windows XP. The windows installer needs to be deployed with administrator privileges. You can force softsqueeze to use a specific java version with the JAVA_HOME or JDK_HOME environment variables. A big THANK YOU to slimdevices forum members bpa and Nico for tracking down the OSX display issues as discussed at https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109593-Help-debugging-weird-font-display-issue and providing detailed build instructions for creating the java packager release.
