  • I really like LMMS, although there are many other software
  • Nice, but not to easy to use...
  • never had any problems with it, great job
  • Great project for music !
  • Very buggy. It has crashed on me 3 times since downloading it and uninstalling and reinstalling a fresh download changed nothing. Some VSTs work, some do not. VSTs that work in FL studio may or may not work with LMMS. Using the 0.4.13 version. The packaged samples are not all up to par and could use a little polishing. But this is to be expected of most free software. It would be good for demos and such, but for hardcore production, best to go with a professional DAW. I am not saying it couldn't be better, I am sure it could, but for now it needs a lot of work. It also appears to be linux in name only. Attempts to install it on Linuxmint and Ubuntu were met with unwanted MSCorefont installer errors. Or something. AS an aside, the latest releases of Ubuntu and LM seem to be crash happy too. Just my opinion, that is all. If you like it, that's cool.
  • I absolutely like LMMS. Making music has never been so easy!
  • I've been using LMMS for a little over a year now. I originally switched from FL studio. LMMS works like a dream, and has differences from FL that I actually like. VST's are handled beautifully in the latest version. I was even able to create a track with thee automated copies of Nexus running at the same time, zero crashes. I really can't complain about anything but the goofy logo and default theme.
  • isn´t as good as fl studio YET, its buggy, and the interface looks crappy. i don´t like closed source software, but i´ve got a separate machine for fl studio, and that computer has no network/internet connection because of windows xp. is it possible to use stream processors for ladspa/vst´s? it should preform beter than commercial dsp cards like uad, powercore, or creamware. it would be very usefull if there was a fl studio 10 opensource edition but needs a lot of dev. i am a musician not a software developer, if you are please support lmms.
  • Just cannot seem to get this working with ubuntu 11.10. Why can't this be a bit easier to install & run?
  • Pretty nice, although a little buggy, it's good.
  • This download installs the Babylon Toolbar in your PC, and therefor should not be licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). It should be categorized as Freeware, but SourceForge.net is only for Open Source software. Babylon Toolbar is NOT open source software but proprietary and should not be included in GNU General Public License (GPL) software.

  • great alternative for FL Studio
  • bravo, good job, i love lmms, it's works very well with my ubuntu, i have fun with it, and i do the same work than an expensive software... ++++++++
  • User friendly software, and most problems seem to be because the project is relatively new. It can only get better as rough edges are cleaned up and features added with age. Once copy-paste is worked out better, and it gets something like track-overlays to make visually timing compositions easier, and has some upgrades and more abilities added to automation tracks... Other music software makers may have a real contender on their hands. (Think of how Blender shook up the 3D graphics scene a bit once the ball got rolling.) The funny part is I'm using the Windows version. (Does the Linux part of the name still fit for software that's obviously cross-platform to some degree? Still needs a Mac build to complete the set.) Watch out FL Studio!
  • The best Music Studio you can get for free! I love it.
  • The best music synthesizer program for Linux that I've found, however I'm shocked at how small the community is.
  • I use LMMS on Win 7 - it is great to use, and has relatively good docs, tutorials. BUT if you want to use a midi keyboard, be warned that the latency is bad, because LMMS does not support ASIO drivers.
  • I absolutely love this program, it was hard to use at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's very easy, and no doubt the best free alternative to frooty loops (aka fl studio) out there. If you're thinking about producing music. This is no doubt a great free program to use!
  • This is probably the best free music studio app out there. I was tempted to try FL Studio before I found LMMS, and I'm lucky I did'nt because LMMS is very easy to use, very fast, and it interfaces with MIDI devices. Excellent!
  • Use LMMS on Windows XP for one year to practise Axis-49 midi controller. In my opinion, it is much better than some of the commercial products. It is powerful and yet logical.
