Steps to setup this Image for for your DSL provider: ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ *NOTE* Only a few modules for NIC's are included (I believe 3c509.o, 3c90x.o, and tulip.o) so you may need to add your own modules for your NIC from http://lrp.steinkuehler.net/kernel/Eiger/modules/net/ Eth0 is your DSL connection so make sure whichever NIC you plug the DSL connection into the module for that NIC is the first to load in modules configuration. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 1) once youve booted the image for the first time run "adsl-setup" (no quotes) and follow the configuration steps for the pppoe client Question #1: Enter your Username Question #2: type "eth0" (no quotes) Question #3: Unless you need demand dial DSL (NOT RECOMMENDED) just press ENTER Question #4: Enter your ISP's 1st DNS number (if you do not know just press ENTER) if you enter a IP number you will be asked for your ISP's second number which you can enter or press ENTER Question #5: Type your password for your account Question #6: Re-Type your password for your account Question #7: Please chose "0" and ONLY "0" (zero) , your LRP box already has firewalling activated and if you activate it on the PPPoE client you will not be able to access your internet connection Question #8: Accept your changes? of course ;-) so answear "y" 2) get a copy of your NIC's modules to /lib/modules/ 3) backup the modules and pppoe packages 4) type "reboot" to reboot your LRP box 5) once your LRP has booted you should see a line saying "Extern IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" where "xxx" is the IP address from your ISPz 6) Problems?
