The *.tar archive files available here each contain a library of "guncamera film" files for Linux Air Combat, all recorded for specific realm and mission combinations as indicated by their respective filenames.
As of this writing in June2025, the LAC community enjoys a rich set of these files for several of our popular missions in Realm01. When these files are replayed using the LAC GunCamera Player, users joining the associated online missions are given a rich, powerful, dynamic experience simulating flight among a crowd of human users, even if no actual human users are participating. To get an idea of what this looks like to a user flying LAC all alone, take a look at THIS YouTube video clip:

It is possible to execute multiple copies of the LAC guncamera player simultaneously in the same Mission and in the same Realm. Sometimes this is NOT what you want. For example, when your "Playlist" folder contains a variety of gun camera files for multiple users, each representing busy online activity as it was originally recorded in the same Mission and Realm, (a situation that won't demand anything else to remain interesting) you'll need only one copy of the guncamera player, and it will diligently replay each of the guncamera files in its Playlist, one after the other, to keep things interesting all the time. This situation is especially relevant when you want to create a synchronized environment with squadrons of aircraft operating in coordinated strikes or flying in formation. Whenever an online "Sentient" player joins that Realm and Mission, his player number will dominate the replay activity, replacing anything the guncamera player would otherwise send to the server for his same player number.
On the other hand, if all of the files in your Playlist folder represent activities from the same, single player all in the same Realm and Mission, you will probably want to add more activity representing other players that you'd like to participate in that same Realm and Mission, at the same time. In this situation, it is commonplace to have 2, 3. or 4 copies of the Guncamera player running simultaneously. Each will replay the guncamera film files in its respective "Playlist" folder one at a time, and the duration of each assorted set of sortees will vary according to whatever was originally recorded. With multiple copies of the LAC guncamera player simultaneously processing their own set of "Playlist" files, an unpredictable, chaotic combination of various events is assured, with each event attributed to different players combining with others in asyncronous, cyclic patterns. This is great for a random-seeming set of "lone wolf" attacks. Once again, whenever an online, "Sentient" player joins that Realm and Mission, his player number will dominate the replay activity, replacing anything the guncamera player would otherwise send to the server for his same player number.
Further discussion of this set of powerful, dynamic tools will be found in our "Discussions" forum here at SourceForge.net as we find time document the processes more deeply.
