Wikipedia is a unique and extremely valuable project on it's own right. However, Kiwix improves Wikipedia by making it accessible even without Internet connectivity. This brings the knowledge of Wikipedia to millions of people who are not online because the live in less developed countries, can not afford the cost, or are disconnected from the Internet by circumstances like natural desasters or war.

Very easy to use and what i like the most is the simple approach 1 offline website - 1 file. Everything is store in 1 .zim file, and the program can create an index (word database) of that file which make the search very easy. It will display all pages which contain the desired word. The downside is that Kiwix is not supporting multimedia files. Maybe that will change in the future.
