Self-hosted fiction archive: a modern, maintainable clone of eFiction, Fictioneer, Wattpad, WebNovel, RoyalRoad, FanFiction.net, and AO3. Run your own original fiction or fan fiction archive. Easy to use PHP codebase. Self-host it on shared hosting or a cheap VPS, or pay us to host it for you at kiption.com.
Kiption covers the eFiction feature set on PHP 8.3 and SQLite: no JavaScript frameworks, no build step, no runtime dependencies. It imports an existing eFiction archive with one command (HTML converted to Markdown, legacy passwords keep working, old URLs 301 to their new addresses) and imports the EPUBs you already own. MIT licensed, and self-hosting is free forever. Development happens on GitHub at github.com/hyperion360/kiption; this project mirrors the releases.
