  • Unbelievable a pricy product like Office/Outlook 2021 has no such option built-in... but this simple DLL fixes the problem when you accidentally click the Close button, finally!
  • Still works for Outlook 2019. Download the right DLL file (32/64-bit). Make sure Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable (x86 or x64) is installed. Run Outlook as Administrator (else, it won't load the Add-in and it won't give any error). You will immediately see it on the list of Add-ins once loaded. Works very well!
  • S O L V E D!!! Even in Outlook 2016 x64/x86 works 1. Check Outlook "bitness" x86 or x64 2. Confirm that proper Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has installed: 2.1 Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable x86 for Outlook x86 2.2 Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable x64 for Outlook x64 3. Run Outlook as administrator 4. File > Options > Add-Ins > COM Add-ins > Select proper .dll > OK 5. Profit
  • Did work for years. since last outlook update i can't add it as an Add-in anymore. It is a shame it doesn't work anymore (or i am doing something wrong)
  • Im getting file not valid as add-in error, on both x64 versions win7 and office2016, I have uninstalled office2016 x64, and installed office2016 x86, and then I was able to use x86 ddl to keep outlook running. Thanks for saving me money and frustration. (on office2016 x64 run as admin did not help)
  • This method works for Outlook 2016 as well: jman642 Win7 64bit & Outlook 2010 64bit. Wouldn't work at first, but then I did this: Find OUTLOOK.EXE, right click, run as administrator, then File, Options, Add-Ins, Go.. button, Add... button and select the 64bit dll
  • Working well (Office 2013 and Windows 10 x64). Now so hard to exit outlook, lol :D
  • Works perfect. (x64 Windows 8.1 outlook 2013). You only need start Outlook with admin account to install add in.
  • Wonderful. Works like a charm (XP 32bit with Outlook 2010). I kept closing outlook by accident, because I automatically use the X button to quit programs. I was trying to get to use minimize instead - but it is difficult to break long standing habits.
  • Works great on windows 8 64bit, Office 2013. Needs to run Outlook as administrator while adding dll.
  • Win7 64bit & Outlook 2010 64bit. Wouldn't work at first, but then I did this: Find OUTLOOK.EXE, right click, run as administrator, then File, Options, Add-Ins, Go.. button, Add... button and select the 64bit dll.
  • Fantastic, installed on one PC and utilized over the network by about 12 other machines. Only way to make Outlook 'user friendly' for people unfamiliar with mail programs or computers in general, has made distributing company-wide email and memos without doubt of receipt possible. 3 Windows XP machines, and 9 Windows 7, only used the 32 bit version for all 32/64 bit machines.
  • Windows 10 build 10240 with Office 2016 Preview, both 64bit: AMAZING! It just works :-) Using it since ever, couldn't live without it.
  • Would not install with Outlook 2013 64 bit running on Windows 8.

  • It works great! On Win 7 64 bit machine running office 2010 32bit. You combine that with the setting you can change in Outlook to 'hide to tray when minimized' and when you press the close button it goes to tray. Awesome! Not 59 dollars like that OLKeeper...freee.

  • Works as advertised. On my Win7 system did not even need to install MSVC, as it was already there.
