Installation instructions (2013-06-16):

KBarcode version 3.0.0b3 is a beta release 
and is not in Ubuntu or Debian repositories yet. 
Only a deb package for amd64 architecture currently exists.
To install the version 3.0.0b3 for amd64 architecture on Ubuntu 13.04 :

Download the file kbarcode_3.0.0b3-1_amd64.deb .

Install dependencies:

sudo apt-get install kde-runtime kdepim-runtime libakonadi-contact4 libakonadi-kde4 libc6 libgcc1 libkabc4 libkdecore5 libkdeui5 libkio5 libkjsapi4 libpcre3 libqt4-sql libqt4-xml libqtcore4 libqtgui4 libstdc++6 barcode ghostscript

Install recommended packages:

sudo apt-get install libpostscriptbarcode cups libqt4-sql-mysql

cd to the directory where the downloaded deb file is and install KBarcode:

sudo dpkg -i kbarcode_3.0.0b3-1_amd64.deb

Run KBarcode:

kbarcode
