//========================================================================
// This directory contains modifications that KB1OIQ has done to his
// uBITX QRP CW/SSB transceiver. This kit came from India and was created
// by Ashhar Farhan (VU2ESE). Thank you, Farhan, for both creating
// the uBITX, and for making the schematics and software open. None of
// these modifications would have been possible otherwise.
//========================================================================

These files describe modifications that I've made to my uBITX transceiver.
I have put the files here in the hope that you may be inspired to make
some of these modifications to your uBITX.

All of this is a work in progress as of this writing. I have a dream that
this work might be useful to visually impaired amateur radio operators.

bitx40_ubitx_presentation.pdf:
  * A presentation that was given by KB1OIQ to the Nashoba Valley
Amateur Radio Club on March 15, 2018.

circuit_description.pdf:
  * uBITX circuit description written by Ashhar (VU2ESE) Farhan

cw_mod.png:
  * I read about this somewhere, so I'm not taking credit for it.
This is how I wired my CW jack, and my sketch matches it.

kb1oiq_i2c_mod.pdf:
  * Describes a hardware and software modification to the uBITX Raduino
board to convert it to an I2C device. This frees up 6 Arduino
digital pins. Two of these pins are used for the Emic2
    text-to-speech module.

kb1oiq_ubitx_keypad.pdf:
  * Describes a hardware and software modification to add a keypad
    to the uBITX.

kb1oiq_ubitx_voice.pdf:
  * Describes a hardware and software modification to add an Emic2
    text-to-speech module to the uBITX.

kb1oiq_users_guide.pdf:
  * Describes the user interface of the KB1OIQ variation of the uBITX.

raduino.pdf:
  * Curciut schematic of the Raduino board, by Ashhar (VU2ESE) Farhan

tune_up.pdf:
  * uBITX calibration procedure written by Ashhar (VU2ESE) Farhan

ubitxv3.pdf:
  * Circuit schematic of the uBITX, by Ashhar (VU2ESE) Farhan

ubitx_wiring_details.pdf:
  * Description of how to wire up the uBITX, by Ashhar (VU2ESE) Farhan

ubitx_kb1oiq:
  * Contains Arduino sketch files for uBITX. This code was originally
written by Ashhar (VU2ESE) Farhan, and heavily modified by KB1OIQ.

Most of all, have a LOT of fun, and 73,

Andy
