Java 8.0 Runtime Environment is bundled with the AtomicJ distribution for Windows. On other operating systems, Java 8.0 needs to be installed on your computer to run AtomicJ. You can download Java 8.0 Runtime Environment for free from the Oracle website https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html Improvements in AtomicJ 1.8: 1) support for 4 - byte Bruker's Nanoscope files added 2) support for CS Instruments file formats 2) support for Nanopuller files (Pawlak et al. 2016: Ultramicroscopy;164:17-23) added 3) calculation of R squared (coefficient of determination) for the fit of the contact model to force - indentation curve 4) calculation of adhesion force is now optional (it is calculated depending on whether you select the "Calculate adhesion force"checkbox in the Output tab of the Processing assistant) 5) reduced memory use and improved speed of contact point calculation
