  • While looking for a linux distro to mess with, I came upon this ubuntu based one. Once downloaded and burned, I played with the live cd and then tried installing it on my laptop (Inspiron 1545). First, I tried installing it from boot without any trouble up until a screen titled "choose a picture" where I had the option of taking my picture or selecting one from the list. There were two buttons on the bottom right side, 1 -back, 2- continue. The continue button was grayed out no matter what picture was chosen. During my second install I decided to boot the livecd and then try to install it. The same error occurred at exactly the same choose picture screen. After an hour or so of reading i ran into a thread at a forum where some people had have had the same problem. One of the responses called for blacklisting a module for the integrated camera the person had on his laptop. I tried this myself and it worked, allowing to continue the installation. Just in case anyone has the same problem just do the following: "0. Boot into a live session 1. Open a terminal 2. sudo -s 3. lsmod and look for the camera driver (mine was gspca_vc032x) 4. rmmod gspca_vc032x 5. Add a blacklist file for gspca_vc032x to /etc/modprobe.d/ 6. Start the installation" Anthony (anthony-yang) wrote on 2012-12-18 on bugsDOTlaunchpadDOTnet forum ^^^(Credit where it is due) ^^^ I did only steps 0-3..5-6 and it still worked for me. btw for anyone who thinks this is too much hassle, you should know that the tweaks are sweet.
