  • Online multiplayer is released as Beta version – Please report any issues on our Discord server
  • Enabled all game modes also in local splitscreen multiplayer (and moved local splitscreen to separate section in Main Menu)
  • Added OpenGL ES 2.0, D3D11 and Vulkan rendering backends (OpenGL 3.3 / OpenGL ES 3 / WebGL 2 is still default on the most platforms)
  • Active rendering backend is shown in About section in Main Menu
  • Added player color customization (including more color options than in the original game)
  • Added full palette-based rendering – It is now possible to implement palette-based effects, as well as significant reduction in memory usage (up to 4 times in some cases)
  • Added Linux ARM64 AppImage builds and moved Linux ARM64 builds to ubuntu-22.04-arm runner
  • Added libretro core by @beudbeud
  • D3D11 rendering backend is now default for UWP/Xbox builds – Performance seems to be much better now, so ANGLE and Mesa builds were disabled
  • Improved main menu and various menu sections, including animations
  • Improved player physics (including sidekicking on a slope and Legacy/non-Reforged gameplay)
  • Improved camera movement
  • Improved splitscreen rendering, including zoom-out mode – 4-player splitscreen looks perfect, especially on a big TV
  • Optimized tilemap rendering (mainly lower CPU usage)
  • Other various optimizations
  • Updated translations
  • Fixed some bugs in menus
  • Fixed some gamepad mappings
