- Online multiplayer is released as Beta version – Please report any issues on our Discord server
- Enabled all game modes also in local splitscreen multiplayer (and moved local splitscreen to separate section in Main Menu)
- Added OpenGL ES 2.0, D3D11 and Vulkan rendering backends (OpenGL 3.3 / OpenGL ES 3 / WebGL 2 is still default on the most platforms)
- Active rendering backend is shown in About section in Main Menu
- Added player color customization (including more color options than in the original game)
- Added full palette-based rendering – It is now possible to implement palette-based effects, as well as significant reduction in memory usage (up to 4 times in some cases)
- Added Linux ARM64 AppImage builds and moved Linux ARM64 builds to
ubuntu-22.04-armrunner - Added libretro core by @beudbeud
- D3D11 rendering backend is now default for UWP/Xbox builds – Performance seems to be much better now, so ANGLE and Mesa builds were disabled
- Improved main menu and various menu sections, including animations
- Improved player physics (including sidekicking on a slope and Legacy/non-Reforged gameplay)
- Improved camera movement
- Improved splitscreen rendering, including zoom-out mode – 4-player splitscreen looks perfect, especially on a big TV
