Desktop Java Pinger
Description:
DJP - free portable cross-platform desktop graphical multi pinger, 100%-pure java.
Local and remote (to syslog-server) logging support. At first DJP use ICMP for ping, if it is unavailable, it tries to check hosts with TCP/echo. Use standart OS ICMP packet-size - Linux=64 bytes, Windows=32 bytes. In addition to local-log also present syslog-server support: then any host down, DJP write message to local log and can send message to syslog-server. TCP port scaner and Telnet connection to host support. Also support backup/restore DB+CFG files to/from zip-archive. Simple and intuitive GUI - Graphical User Interface. Successfully tested in Windows and Linux for more than 100 hosts. Example of using CDI (Weld) and JPA (EclipseLink / OpenJPA) in Java SE application. Support both IPv4 and IPv6. Need only JRE 1.8
If you are going to put in just one address to ping, make it 8.8.8.8 That is the Google DNS server, and if that goes down, grab your gun and run for the hills, for the end of the world has arrived!
Adapted and packaged for Haiku by Michel Clasquin-Johnson. Tested on Haiku R1/beta 4 in the x86_64 bit variant and OpenJDK. Should run on 32-bit but that has not been tested.
Requires: The latest Java runtime from the official Haiku repositories. At the time of writing, installing openjdk21_default will see you through.
