STATIC: An Introduction
* The STATIC project was established in 1984, when the first 16-bit implementation was made (PDP-11/05 computer, RT-11 operating system, PASCAL compiler at the University of Tasmania UTAS, Hobart).
* In 1993 it was ported to the IBM PC (16-bit implementation, MS-DOS 2.20 operating system, Philip Kahn's Turbo Pascal compiler), and it was named STATIC/MX.
* Since 2020, development has been carried out in the Microsoft Windows environment (all versions starting with Windows XP/Pro), the Lazarus IDE, and the Free Pascal compiler. These 32-bit implementations are released with the name STATIC/EX.
* In 2025, the project was supplemented with 64-bit implementations, starting with version 1.09 (all versions of Microsoft Windows, starting from Windows XP/Pro, are still supported). Lazarus IDE 3.4, Free Pascal Compiler 3.2.2. No additional components and/or libraries that are not included in the standard delivery are still used.
* Starting with STATIC/EX version 1.10, the system includes three applications, of which only static.exe is really necessary. Others are: spector.exe as data visualizer (saved files .std and .csv, also living data from STATIC/EX memory); tester.exe as IPC client to develop and d`ebug the system in a complex modes.
* Since 1993, the copyright belongs to the MicroMagic brand, under which all programs developed by me are published.

All source code of the project is declared as public domain, so the use of their source and binary codes for any user is free and not regulated in any way. As the author, I only ask that I be mentioned as the developer (both in relation to the entire system and any of its parts) in each case of use for developing one's own programs, for educational or scientific purposes. Naturally, in all cases of using my source code, the result (compiled binaries) should also be provided free of charge to any users.
STATIC/EX is used for data research and modeling, some results have already been published:
