We use IPMEMS to build medium-sized industrial data acquisition systems. IPMEMS fits well in 256MB or 512MB RAM and i486-based microPCs and works with OpenJDK 6 and any Linux OS (e.g. Debian, TinyCoreLinux or SliTaz). The embedded Web-server, binary/ASCII protocol parser, internationalization support, DB engine and Groovy scripting give an opportunity to develop your system just as you like.
