The vison of this new project is a fully featured "what you see is what you get" equation editor for Python.

Ikwed is in development and the first version is not finished yet.

Ikwed should support:
- intuitive keyboard and drag&drop behaviour
- user defined key shortcuts
- user defined symbol libraries
- nicely looking equations similiar to Latex
- symbolic calculations
- import and export for several math languages like Latex and MathMl
- export for svg and png
- integration with Veusz
- integration with OpenOffice and Word

TexMaths
TexMaths is an addon designed to provide LaTeX support into LibreOffice. LaTeX equations can be inserted as images (SVG or PNG formats) and the LaTeX code is saved into the image attribute for further editing.

OOoLatex is no more maintained. Please consider using TexMaths (http://roland65.free.fr/texmaths/) OOoLatex is a set marcos designed to provide latex support into OpenOffice. Complex equations can be inserted as images, the latex code is saved into the image attribute while simpler equations are expanded into symbol characters to be inserted as text.
