Steps for installation 1. Copy ubuntu.zip from sourceforge 2. Unzip it to /sdcard/. 4 individual files will be under /sdcard/ubuntu. 3. Make a directory /sdcard/images. Preview images from the DSLR or the raw images from QHY8L will be saved to this directory. 4. Make a directory /sdcard/astrometry. Copy astrometry.net index files to this directory for performing plate-solving. You can download the index files from http://broiler.astrometry.net/~dstn/4200/ Read this first http://astrometry.net/doc/readme.html 5. Install Script manager (SManager) from Google Play 6. Open Smanage and open bootubuntu.sh (click su to run as superuser). The boot process will start. Now you have ubuntu and iAstroDroid running as a parallel OS. To stop the parallel OS, type exit at the command line or reboot your device. Get started with iAstroDroid web application. 1. Open a webbrowser and type 127.0.0.1 as the url. You should see the web application. 2. All devices shall be connected to a usb hub. Then plug in the usb hub to the android USB host port. 3. Click Admin on the web application. Click "start apps" to start Linguider, CCD, and Skychart 4. If you want to configure Linguider or Skychart, click "start vnc". Then use a VNC client program to connect to the android device at port 5900 or 5901. Be sure to exit Linguider to save setting.
