Very good job, Chris! Thanks for building your first version e-2.9-s-20250531-UNOFFICIAL-GX290 based on AOSP (A12) with »testkeys« /e/OS build types are defined in the /e/OS documentation, for example: UNOFFICIAL /e/OS builds «are created using the /e/OS source code without any modifications» CUSTOM builds: «The builds may have modifications to the /e/OS source and may contain code developed to support specific devices» »I cut off a lot of debugging cruft. A lot. A lot ... I included Trebuchet launcher ... F-Droid with privileged extensions« writes Chr in forum community.e.foundation. These changes and welcome improvements would be reason enough for me to no longer call the ROM UNOFFICAL but CUSTOM. Side note: For me, the generally and mostly used term “unofficial” evokes negative associations at first glance; in contrast, “custom” sounds more individual and professional. I await with interest the next version { e-3.x-s-2025XXXX-CUSTOM-GX290 } from chr-chr aka Chr alias Chris with the new /e/ feature “Find My Device” and perhaps “dev keys” or “release keys”?
