  • Excellent Program This allowed me to dualboot Windows 10 and Linux Mint. Since after installing Linuxmint the grub didn't appear. After installing this program it worked like a charm. Saved me a lot of time.
  • The program works great and I have had no issues so far.
  • Grub2Win is a very useful tool, several of my projects use it.
  • Windows Defender and Avast both say it had a trojan, but after reading the forum I decided to install it on a VM and see. Alas, no trojan. I previously installed and since uninstalled BlissOS , which installed grub. Grub2Win doesn't seem to be able to overtake the existing grub, as it continues to appear, not containing Phoenix, my current OS of choice. I seem to be the only one having problems with it so I won't rate it low, but no, it doesnt work for me.
  • I use Grub2Win for multi boot of Win10 and 2 different versions releases of Linux Mint (viz 20.0 and also latest 20.3). I have been using it since Apr2021 version 2.2.1.6. Now 25 updates later we are at version 2.3.2.9. The design is "retro" FROM THE GOOD OLD DAYS. That's fine by me. "If it ain't broken why fix it"... I gave you a 5* rating because: - it always just works. - Updates are reliable and don't break things from one release to the next. That is SO IMPORTANT! - the start menu is customisable. I use my own favourite screen background. Thank you Dave Pickens and team for a reliable product that just works. Raphael
  • I've found grub2win more reliable than Linux native grub, and gets the job done when linux grub fails. I don't know if that's because of the antisocial behavior of Windows, or whether grub2win is just great, but either way, gets my thumbs up.
  • Very Good Software.
  • Yes Grub2Win is the best Bootloader because its UI and Stability.Grub2Win Project is Extremely Good for any OS But Like the Some Users there is not fully customizable like Ubuntu Grub(Officiial) Grub like adding custom Themes and the Grub Customizer is Also not available(i is availiable but it doesn't work. But all the way this Program is On Fire. Hypervast Studios©
  • Great work ! Inspite of having rEFInd/Clover/Ventoy installed I still use Grub2Win because of the customization options available and because when things go wrong I can clearly see whats what in Grub2Win while the others being more automated don't really show you whats happening. Indispensable for managing windows 11 type of things, which need UEFI GPT Secure Boot TPM switched on, along with a dual boot for a linux distro or triple boot with a macOS or android x86 install.
  • Excellent project! I set up multiboot from Windows 10 in 2 minutes. No need to setup grub from Linux, just install as 1 partition. Integrates easily with EFI (I use UEFI and GPT). Thanks!
  • Thank you
  • Great app. Too bad the changelog has to be downloaded. Put it in the description and or join Github like everyone else. Sourceforge is a waste of space nowadays.

  • Just great, no words ;)
  • Great app, fully compatible with Grub2, usefull to boot Linux iso images in an easy and intuitive way.
  • - Successfully installed Grub2. - Grub2Win has a lack of feature to help create custom grub.cfg files. - Design/UI needs improvement. - Could use hints & examples to help the user.
  • THnx good job friend
  • The developer's support is just simply amazing.
  • I just installed grub2win with the single click and it works! My motherboard is Z97MPLUS with bios Version 2903 and my OS is Windows 10 Pro. The bios has these settings (they were set long time ago): Secure Boot > Compatibility Support Module > Enabled (this is the default), ... and all the other Secure Boot options are at default values, except for the Secure Boot > Operating system > Other (instead of Windows UEFI). The system is mostly prepared for the Linux installation, as many other tutorials for Ubuntu linux specify. Other installation programs had previously failed: OpenSUSE and EasyBCD - they had no access to EFI hardware. The help in grub2win does not display any contents, just the tree on the left side that contains the titles. The process of usage: install, run, Manage EFI Partition Modules, Reboot to run a test, run again in Windows to Manage EFI Partition Modules and set as the default boot loader. Using AUTO screen resolution setting.

  • Grub2Win is a phenomenal app for those of us that multi-boot our Windows systems. I have been doing that for a very long time using Grub4DOS. But Grub4DOS doesn't support the new EFI system configs without switching the BIOS to Legacy mode. Grub2Win doesn't require that, and supports multi-booting on both BIOS and EFI systems without impacting the ability to boot the native Windows systems. It is easy to implement and easy to remove. It allows me to boot the various ISO downloads that I normally boot from Linux systems to Windows recovery systems. The ISO boots I normally configure manually so there is no limitations on what I can do. And the author is very supportive of requests for help and changes. I don't remember how I happened to find this app but I am very happy that I did.

  • Looks nice, but needs advanced options for linux, like maual kernel conf, i need bzImage, different root, and no initrd
  • Works Great. Running Windows 8.1 on Acer Aspire For Slackware edit grub.cfg and put this in the user-section menuentry 'Slackware' --class Slackware --class icon-linux { set gfxpayload=1024x768 set root='(hd0,7)' linux /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/sda7 initrd /boot/initrd.gz echo Grub is now booting Slackware echo Boot disk address is $root echo The boot mode is Partition Address sleep -v -i 5 } change the 7's to your partition number.
  • Great: 1. so much easier than fiddling around with boot.ini 2. something that modifies boot files is very likely to get flagged as a virus... 3. LOVE the retro design - would cost a fortune for UX designers to come up with something like this 4. Ease-of-use - what's complicated about this? easier to use than a lot of apps...
  • Nov 26, 2014 turned off antivirus and extracted download, works fine. Still indicates a virus on scan, -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nov. 14, 2014 More Aha! The McAfee virus software says that grub2win.exe contains the Artemis!80363A7F0FC4 virus and throws the file away. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oct. 16 The file opens in 7zip but the file grub2win.exe cannot be extracted. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aha! When you try to download the file without logging in, you get something that is 4,762,282 bytes which does not open in 7Zip. When you log in and download, you get 4,762,894 bytes and it opens happily in 7Zip. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The 2014-09-28 binary is corrupt. It is supposed to be 4.8 MB but arrives as 4.5 MB and does not open in 7zip. I downloaded a previous version which works fine.
