Gradle Versions Plugin

Gradle Versions Plugin is a Gradle plugin that discovers newer versions of project dependencies and reports which packages are current, outdated, unresolved, or ahead of the selected release level. It adds a dependencyUpdates task that can scan regular dependencies and entries declared through version catalogs. The plugin reports findings without modifying build files or applying upgrades automatically. Users can control revision strategies, filter unstable releases, respect declared version bounds, and check constraints. Reports can be generated in plain text, JSON, XML, HTML, or custom formats. It also supports multi-project builds, configurable output paths, Gradle update checks, and settings-based integration.
