    Once you've got the hang of it, gnuplot is simply fantastic. In particular, the built-in interpolation methods work really well, in fact much better than what is available in some math front-ends such as Maxima. Add to that the new pdfcairo terminal and you've got a winner. Works really well in conjunction with pdfTeX and the results look simply superb!

    One of the fundamental plotting software for serious graphing. Completely scriptable, it requires some effort at the beginning to understand the way to use it. The results definitely worth it.

    I use it for scientific data and gnuplot's command line driven approach is simply great ! small things could improve but on the all a MUST
