I've enjoyed using this package for many years with many thousands of individuals in my primary GEDCOM file. After having upgraded to Mac OS Catalina, though, the installation process is a bit of work. First you have to convince the installer to ignore the lack of a proper developer signature. There is a short Script Editor script on the web to modify the javaforosx.dmg file so that the installer will work. As an experienced developer, this was no big problem. Then you have convince the launcher to also ignore the signature issue. A one-line command for Terminal will do this. Success! I'm happy to post these but am unsure where or how. But it really is time to start using recent versions of Java. I'm sure this would be a lot of work—I'm not a Java-for-Mac developer so I don't have a good idea of the effort required.

I have loved this program for years, then when I had to update from OS X Sierra to Mac OS X Catalina it no longer works. I don't see any indication that the Mac install is being considered anymore. Any comments? Please tell me you are still working on a Mac version.

I trust this program with my genealogical data (800 individuals). I love the portability (Java based). I think the user interface is a bit challenging, but I'd call it a power-user interface, instead of considering it to be over simplified. We need someone to manage the continued improvement and life span of this project. Maybe I'll look in to becoming the manager.
