GEDCOM Navigator is a free, open-source genealogy application for exploring family trees and analyzing relationships in GEDCOM files. It imports data exported from Ancestry, MyHeritage, Gramps, Family Tree Maker, and other genealogy platforms. Users can identify the closest tagged relatives, including DNA matches, and discover multiple relationship paths between individuals. Its search engine recognizes alternate names, maiden names, fuzzy matches, and Hebrew or Cyrillic transliterations. Interactive visualizations allow users to expand or collapse family branches and examine connections graphically. The application generates ancestor and descendant reports with customizable diagrams. Profile photos and image galleries can be viewed when available locally. A command-line interface supports automated genealogy queries without modifying original GEDCOM files.
