GBAC is a virtualization enabled (VirtualBox) execution
environment for Distributed Computing Infrastructures.
The current releases are the following (versions
following r4 are based on svn revisions):
- Win32 binaries: r2614 (2043-02-14)
- Linux-amd64 binaries: r2614 (2014-02-14)
- Virtual appliance: r2609 (2014-01-14)
For documentation refer to:
http://doc.desktopgrid.hu/doku.php?id=manual:gbac
The doc/ directory contains the ChangeLog and it is
also bundled with the packages above.
Additionally you can find the following directories
here:
- The sample/ directory contains a sample application
(EMMIL) in bundle format for testing (refer to the
manual for more information).
- The virtual_appliance/ directory contains
1.) preconfigured virtual appliances for GBAC:
gbac-debian-x86_vdi-*.gz (Debian 6.0 32bit)
gbac-cernvm-basic-2.7.2-1-2-x86_64.vdi.gz (CernVM 64bit)
gbac-sl58-v*.vdi.gz (Scientific Linux 5.8 64bit)
These have the guest tools deployed and ready
for use. You will need one of these for the GBAC
releases (as they do not contain any virtual
appliance).
2.) A virtual appliance for application development
and testing:
appdev-debian-x86_vdi-*.gz
This is basically the same VA as the previous
one with Debian, but with the GBAC guest additions
disabled and additional free space.
This is intended for people who don't have
access to Debian 6.0 32bit instance, but want to
test/ develop their application for GBAC.
- The guest_tools/ directory contains the scripts
needed for any custom virtual appliance, thus if
you use the one found in the virtual_appliance/
directory, you don't need these.
- The source/ directory contains the GBAC source code.
