fishdraw is an open-source JavaScript program that creates procedurally generated illustrations of fish using mathematical drawing techniques. It produces distinctive aquatic creatures with varied shapes, anatomical details, and decorative patterns. The software generates drawings as collections of polylines, making them suitable for digital illustration and pen plotters. Users can export artwork as SVG, JSON, or CSV files. It also supports animated SVG output using SMIL to reproduce the drawing process. Command-line options allow users to specify a generation seed, output format, and animation speed. Each fish receives a pseudo-Latin name derived from its seed or generated automatically. The program operates as a dependency-free JavaScript file and can also be imported into other applications.
